The bunkers on 15 and 16 have now been filled.

The new extended bunker on 9 has had new sand.

You can just see the extra curve of the bunker from this angle.

Mark messaged yesterday to say that the bunker on the 12th was ready for seeding so I popped down to have a look.

They have done so much work.

The bunkers on 16 being filled.

Mark also said they'd done some work on 14 to make it safer for buggies.

It's looking so much better!

While I was there.. the water tower is shrinking!

On over at the 9th they have finished joining the bunkers up.

Looks really good!

And the bunkers on 5 are filled and ready for seed!

It's so good to see such work going on on the course.

Look at this lovely bunch...

The earth dug out of nine is being moved to fill in the GUR bunker on 12. 

The GUR bunkers on 15 and 16 have also been readied for filling in and turfing.

The two bunkers to the left of 9 are being joined to become one...

Lockdown

Jan 8th 

No-one needs a reminder but for the record we are in a full lockdown again with golf not being allowed. 

It comes as infection rates and deaths are very high and will be in place for probably 7 weeks minimum.

The course team are making the most of the opportunity to do some course improvements. if you look carefully you'll spot the guys filling in the bunker on the 12th.

Look forward to a time when we can live and play with less anxiety. In the mean time saty safe c everyone and lets keep looking after each other as we have since the start of this awfulness.  

New Year!

New Year

Apologies for the big gap in time since the last blog.. we have endured the second lockdown and then, when we could meet up to play again, the weather was really not kind. 

There were occasions when we could play - but generally things were difficult.

Christmas has come and gone and we welcome in a New Year with a hope that the longed for vaccines will materialize before too long.

Until then we are faced with a very serious situation in the UK with very high rates of Covid. Cornwall has been put into Tier 3 with high chances of another full lockdown. 

Several ladies played on Saturday - it didn't rain or sleet but conditions were tough. Some stopped after 11 holes, others crawled around all 18!

It may look benign on the picture but it was very hard going which is reflected in the scoring.

Thanks Di and Frieda for doing the cards. The competition was not a qualifier - the bunkers had been declared GUR because of standing water.

There were a lot of folk out playing and several ladies spent time replacing divots on fairways (not our divots!) and mending numerous pitch-marks on the greens. It must be hugely frustrating for Mark to see this 😞. 

It was great to see Jean and Ros out....

Hilary, Sue D and Lyn also played - Hilary pointed out that the last time she'd played had been in September!

What a time it has been! 

One thing that has been absolutely brilliant - is the way we have all looked out for each other and kept each other smiling!
