Medal and more
On Saturday 6th November we had a medal with just 8 ladies playing. Conditions weren't easy once again although as you can see in the pictures we had some blue sky but most of us struggled with one thing or another.
The ground was heavy after the rain with lots of worm casts on the fairways - pick and place is certainly helpful at the moment!

There was only one person who scored close to her handicap - with 6 pars and a really steady round was Hils - well played Hilary!None of the rest of us came close although of course we had to use countback to separate the next 3 players!

Thursday 11th we actually managed to play a Back 9 fun competition. Frieda had asked us to count 3 scores on the first 3 holes we played... then two on the next three... and just one on the final three holes.
And we had fun!
The winning team with 32 points were Jayne, Liz and Sam closely followed by Sarah, Ros and Angie with 31!And so to Saturday which was a fun Greensome competition. Just 10 ladies were able to play but despite the low numbers there was a lot of laughter on the course!When playing golf we certainly need a sense of humour and the ability to laugh at ourselves. My playing partner Jenny had hit a nice drive on the 11th so I thought I'd let rip with mine and see how far I could hit it!
Not very far was the answer to that!

There were some lovely shots too mind you - Antoinette had a downhill putt from the back bank on the 13th and rolled it beautifully into the hole - shot of the day in our group!
Being very Covid aware still we sat outside and shared our coffee with even more laughter - it does the soul good to share these times together.The winning team were Judy and Angie... Angie was the injured golfer as she had decided to hit a few balls in the practice nets and the ball had rebounded of a bar and hit her on the wrist and finger... both bruised... but clearly an excellent thing to do before you play!

PS. The Cornwall v Rest of the World match due to be played on the 14th was called off due to fog!
