St Patrick's Day Perversity

Thursday 17th March

Beautiful day.

Judy getting ready to tee off  on the 10th
Today the weather was glorious, cool but blue sky sunny. It was a back 9 Stableford and Sonia and Judy led the way.

It was easy to be distracted by the fabulous weather and other than for Lyn, the golf proved to be a struggle. The course is looking better and better but the ground is hard and the ball has a bounce of its own - and today that bounce was quite perverse!

For example... the 13th! Chris laid up in front of the wall with her tee shot; her second shot landed next to the green on the right hand side, up in the GUR. No problem.... ...but wait... it is a problem!
What happened next?
You can guess.
The ball ran back onto the path... skipped across the slope... jumped down off the wall and ran back towards the tee!
Chris was not alone experiencing this... Jean had the same issue... three times! Marion had had a similar problem last week! The thirteenth is proving very tricky these days!
Chris's third shot on the 13th!

Bounces also proved perverse on the remaining holes, with the 14th and 16th being particularly awkward for several ladies, with the ball not stopping on or near the green but running through and into rough below or beyond the hole.

If you look carefully you can see Sue and Lyn playing from below the 16th after frustrating bounces!

Having said all that - the 12th was parred by seven of the eleven ladies who played today!
The winner was Lyn with a score of 16, Sue and Ruth could not be separated even on countback, and shared second place with 11 points. Jean won the B group.
Well played ladies...  thanks to Di for marking the cards for us. It was good to see her out playing the first two holes today.

Congratulations also to Sonia for winning her Vets knockout semi-final at Tehidy - well played and good luck in the final!
