Yesterday some Covid restrictions were lifted which meant that we are allowed out on the course again!

It felt so good!

Several ladies were able to get out there and it was so lovely to be able to meet and chat.

The weather started overcast but turned into blue skies and warm sunshine. 

The club was a hive of activity - the course is looking amazing!

Next Saturday will be our first competition!

As we know, we will be able to play golf from Monday March 29th! We're getting closer to that date and today the BRS system began taking bookings for that date.

The driveway has received some emergency treatment with the help of some lovely volunteers.

The course itself is looking fabulous - some of the changes affect the GUR bunkers, the one below is the old bunker on the 12th - looking really good.

The small bunker out on the end by the 14th green has also been turfed.

Some plants have also been placed at points to mark the different fairways,

and I am sure there are more things to surprise us.

Huge thanks go to Leanne and Andy for their commitment to improving the club and the the ground-staff for all their work!

A bright sunny morning encouraged me out! Mark had said to take a look at the 17th green and remember what it had been like a year ago!

The course is looking lovely.

The CLCGA have taken the decision to cancel the League competition for 2021.

It seems the right thing to do when none of us know what travel and other restrictions will be in place once this lockdown lifts.

We are will all be rusty (and creaky!) when we restart but  being safe is the most important thing. Several of our ladies have now had the first instalment of the vaccines... others are waiting, but hopefully it won't be too long.

We have missed each other  very much and  when we can meet up again it will be so special.

ps... the top has disappeared from the water tower!

The men's 9th tee is taking shape. 

Soil and then turf awaited. 

I guess there will be a better view of the green when it's all finished - it will take a while to bed in but Mark is hoping it will be in use in April. 

A small bunker has been cut into the mound.

The course is looking lovely...

...although all that rain on Sunday left waterlogged patches.

The bunkers on 15 and 16 have now been filled.

The new extended bunker on 9 has had new sand.

You can just see the extra curve of the bunker from this angle.

Mark messaged yesterday to say that the bunker on the 12th was ready for seeding so I popped down to have a look.

They have done so much work.

Mark also said they'd done some work on 14 to make it safer for buggies.

It's looking so much better!

While I was there.. the water tower is shrinking!

On over at the 9th they have finished joining the bunkers up.

Looks really good!

And the bunkers on 5 are filled and ready for seed!

It's so good to see such work going on on the course.

Look at this lovely bunch...

The earth dug out of nine is being moved to fill in the GUR bunker on 12. 

The GUR bunkers on 15 and 16 have also been readied for filling in and turfing.

The two bunkers to the left of 9 are being joined to become one...
