2019!
Already?
Can you believe it? Time seems to travel faster the older we get.
Twelve wonderful women came to play today... and others (equally wonderful) came for coffee and chat at the end - excellent :-)
Today was the first playing day (for us) with the new Handicaps and New Rules in place...if you imagined that I'd remember the knee high drop you'd be wrong!
I had to drop my ball away from the 6th tee box... merrily dropped it... only to hear "LOWER" floating across the airwaves!
Lower?
Ah... yes ... muggins had dropped it from shoulder height so had to do a re-drop from knee height... thanks Frieda and Lynne for putting me right!
In fact...I made two mistakes... I should not have taken a drop from the tee box but should have simply played it from there anyway... I confused it with taking a drop if you're on a green... apologies all!

Conditions were heavy... the ground is very wet but Mark and Chris had cut the fairways and greens so the course was looking sprightly.
On the 9th tee |
While we waited to play on the 9th tee we spotted Lindsay and Judy coming up the eighth... can you spot them...
Lindsay and Judy |
...we wondered if they'd fallen out as they couldn't get much further apart!
It was great to be out playing without wind whipping around us - long may it continue.
In the B group the winner was Angie with 12 points (just pipping Lynne to the win) - well played.
In the A group Frieda was second with 13 points... and in first place with 16 was myself!
Well played all... it was good to be out on the course after what has felt like a long while for some of us...
Di, Jean, Ros and Lyn all came for coffee after and as we came in it was great to see Claire and Jayne going out to play.
There's a medal on Saturday - Thursday morning golf and then on Friday (11th) it is the presentation evening.
Management would like to know numbers so please could we book with Ashley or a member of the staff.
It is £15 for a two course carvery - payment taken on the night.
