League v Truro
Today we travelled to Truro for our next league match where we were very warmly welcomed. Conditions were good being mostly cloudy but warm and just a light breeze.
The course was looking great and playing well...although I can vouch for the fact that there are an awful lot of trees at Truro!
The Result of the match was a 4/3 win to Cape!
Well played ladies.
We did come across a situation we have not encountered before...
The conditions of play in county league matches says the following...
Match sheets must be exchanged no later than 10 minutes before the match start time. There can be no substitutions once match sheets have been exchanged.
Hilary and the Truro Ladies Captain filled in the sheets and wrote the cards and as we were waiting on the tee we realised that one of the Truro players was missing. She didn't turn up, so that match was conceded to us before we started. It was not what we would have wanted but we have to abide by the Conditions of Play drawn up by the County.
As a result, Claire didn't play her match but did play about 11 holes on an informal basis with the Truro Captain.
Well done to all the team, Claire, Hils, Lindsay, Lyn, Ros, Ruth and Sue D.
Oh, and we had a delicious meal afterwards!
Aussie Spoons
Fiona and Ann ventured to Launceston for the Regional Final of the Aussie Spoons today; foursomes is such a tricky format but they came in with a score of 30 points - well played both!
The winners were from Launceston itself with a score of 37; in second place were Perranporth with 35 points; there were then 3 groups on 32; one on 31 and at least three other pairs with 30 points - the same score as Fi and Ann.
Good effort ladies!
