Saturday 7th September

Today we had two competitions... the monthly medal and the Newlyn Trophy.

Newlyn Trophy

The Newlyn Trophy was run as a round robin competition which resulted in three ladies having won the same number of rounds! So today Lynne, Jean and Angie came to resolve matters.

It was decided that they would play a stableford round over 11 holes and the winning score would lift the trophy.

It was very close... 25 points to 24... with Angie winning and Lynne runner up!

Medal

There were 10 ladies playing in the medal; conditions were pretty good and brightened up as we went round but most of us came in a bit weary!

Balls were lost and in one case found by a following player. There was some luck...and no luck, it was just one of those days.

Frieda was our worthy winner with a nett 71 with a round that included 5 pars!

In second place was Fi with two birdies (4 and 12) and four pars. 

Countback was needed for third as three of us had nett 74s  it was between Ann, Lyn and myself - results below.
