Saturday Sableford

Saturday 24th February

Saturday dawned bright and sunny with a chilly wind but eleven lovely ladies entered the Stableford competition.

Sue thought it wasn't as cold as Thursday... but it was not easy to play and the scores reflected it.

Our winner was Jayne with 25 points... she had just pipped our Lady Captain on countback!
In third was Bev with 24; the full results are here.

Well done everyone who played today.

Next week is the Polglase 1 Medal... good luck all :-)

Thursday Back 9

Thursday Back 9

Fifteen fabulous ladies turned up for golf today! The sun was glorious but it was bitterly cold... and apparently it is going to get colder!

An Easterly wind is on its way!

It was the Back 9 today and of course we had to use Countback to identify our winners.

Sarah just missed out on countback to Ros who was in third place with 13 points; in second was Bronwen with 16 points and in first place was our lovely Lady Captain (again!!!)

Sorry no Cape photos today ...I left my phone at home on charge... but here's one from a cold and frosty morning at Pavenham (where I used to play)

Super Saturday

Super Saturday!

And super it was! The sun shone... the breeze was a breeze and although it was a bit chilly at the start we ended up stripping off layer after layer!

It was great to be out playing and there was a good turnout.  We were playing 3 clubs and a putter... some of us were pleased with our choice of clubs... others (like myself) were not so sure and would probably choose a different combination another time!

It was good to have Pam back from Oz and her putting has clearly not been affected by the trip...

she rolled this one in...

...down the shadow from off the green and into the hole!

In fourth place with 24 points was Frieda; in third was our Lady Captain and in second was Hilary.

Our winner today with 28 points was Claire!
Well played!

It was lovely to have Val join us after golf... and it was great to see the sunshine...more of that please!

The 'hole' on the 16th seems to be growing!

Thursday F9

Thursday Front 9

Thursday dawned to a massive hail shower in St Just... the forecast was good though and that was the only shower.

It was lovely to be out and playing after all the dreadful weather. The course was looking lovely 😄.

Eight ladies came and played the front 9 with Sue D coming second with 13 points and Antoinette winning with 16! Well played.

It was lovely to see Di and Anne for coffee after and Lynne who played several practice holes.

Hopefully the weather will start to improve soon and more of us will be able to get out on the course.  Mark and Chris have done an amazing job considering the weather of the last few months.

Tasty Tuesaday at the Taj

Many thanks to Sue for organising a lovely evening at the Taj Mahal. Eighteen lovely ladies were able to make it and we enjoyed a super meal together.
Thank you!

February Medal

February 3rd

I am almost at a loss for words... but I'll do my best!

Eight (possibly certifiable) ladies turned up at Cape today... many hoping for just coffee but that was not to be.. out we went for a medal round!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         It was windy... it was sunny           and there were showers, some                        of hail!                                                                                      But we had some beautiful                             rainbows!

The course was looking wonderful...

and the greens were fantastic!
Thanks as always to Mark and Chris... the greens were fast and true.

However...
...the golf left a lot to be desired. It was very difficult fighting the wind but we stayed dry mostly and we got lots of fresh air!

Only four ladies completed the round and as it turned out ...only two of them had results that stood!

Embarrassingly... I came second with a NETT 97! I am suitably red faced!

In first place was Hilary with a Nett 88.

For what they're worth the full results are here

Let's hope for better weather soon...

Blustery February

Front 9

First of Feb... sunshine... warmth (no)... calm conditions(no), amazing golf (no)...good company (yes!) and a good walk...yes!

Seven intrepid ladies turned up for golf this morning... and really only one of us managed anything like golf!

But, we stayed dry and surely the walk will have done us good?

The wind was strong enough to knock us off balance and also carry the ball in directions we didn't want...(I lost two on the third tee!) but that being said, it was good to be out!
In second place was Frieda...

but the only golfer among us who got into double figures was our wonderful Lady Captain Sue! Thirteen points today was some feat!

Well done!
