Lady Captain's Charity Cup

Lady Captain's Charity Cup!

What a fabulous day!

There are lots of pictures to enjoy which show how much fun was had on the course today!

And what people thought of us heaven only knows!

All put in motion by the wonderful understated example of our captain, Sarah!

Be prepared for an overload of pictures and very little golf!

First off were these reprobates, looking so colourful!

Following close behind were Lady Captain and her team...

Standing sensibly wasn't allowed!

A rather sophisticated group followed on!

Classy or what?

The weather, which had started a bit foggy was a blue sky sort of day although there was a lot of damp on the grass and we left lovely trails through the grass!

The same was true of the greens where there were 'stepping stone' patterns of footprints!

This made putting interesting. Sometimes you might see a line that you'd be tempted to follow but it was easy to be misled!

Misled....?

Is it October?   Is that a Father Christmas I see before me?

You rub your eyes because you can't believe what you see... and suddenly you're seeing double!

Actually...

...there were three of them!

Absolutely fabulous and a wicked gleam in those eyes!

Talking of wicked gleams...

...did you need the head protection on the way round Fi?

Another naughty group followed!

It really looks like we were having too much fun!

The individual who won the best bad taste prize was our quiet and retiring lady Captain!

The group prize went to our Christmas wonders Liz, Sam and Angie!

In the golf...

third place was won by Fiona, Antoinette and Jayne with 100  points!

In second place with 104 points were Sue S, Sue D and Lyn and the winners ...

Bev, Claire and Chris J with 106  points.

Well played ladies!!

It was such an enjoyable day and we raised around £120 for the charity while we were having all that fun!

I 'd like to add that someone in our group tried very hard to lose the ball on the first hole...the drive almost reached the water... the second shot reached the long grass at the water's edge... the drop out was safe...but the next shot bounced on the far bank...just escaping the grasp of Crocodile Creek. Happy to say that each of us tried very hard to lose the ball but we managed to keep it to the end!

Mind you... it's not a bad approach to having a happy day...lose the golden ball early then you relax and have even more fun!

Thanks Sarah for a fabulous day and to Jean  for the results!

More please!

Botrea Bowl

 Botrea Bowl

Fifteen fabulous ladies played in the Botrea Bowl Stableford competition. The weather was a little overcast but good and there were some amazing scores recorded.

We have a new bell on the 4th which is greatly appreciated and which makes a rather nice dong!

We were able to sit outside after and it was lovely to all be together although the found the shape of the table tops entertaining!

In fourth place with a lovely 38 points was Fran.

In third doing one better was Angie with a score of 39 points!

But there is more to come!

In second place with a fabulous 41 points was Sam and our winner was Antoinette with an amazing 42 points!

What incredible scores!

Well played ladies and congratulations Ann on winning the trophy!

The Saturday of that week should have been a Stableford but the weather wasn't good so we didn't play.
The evening was the Anniversary dinner and the following day was the Anniversary Scramble which was won by Hilary and her team with Claire and hers in second place and Frieda, Ros and their team in third.
Well played ladies!

The final of the Ladies singles competition took place with a well fought contest between Fran and Sue D with Fran winning on the 14th hole.
Conditions were perfect and the match was played in excellent spirit. Congratulations Fran

The following Thursday was the back 9 and once again the weather intervened along with our Medal on Saturday!

The Trevelyan Scramble did take place on the Sunday despite heavy showers hanging around and a very strong wind!

Shower coming in!

Rainbow promising better things!

It was challenging to say the least but there were runaway winners in Sam, Timmy and Rob McC with a score of 53. Well played team!

In second place were Frieda, Mark P and Dan F scoring 57 points.

That brings us up to this week and on Thursday eleven ladies played the front nine with some more great scores. Well played everyone.
