Catch up!

Catch up!

Apologies for lack of blog for two weeks ...but Covid struck!

So to catch up now... on Saturday 11th June eleven ladies played in the final round of the Polglase competition.

This was a medal round and in the glorious weather there were some lovely scores.

For example Lyn birdied the 10th and had an eagle on the 12th! Fran had 8 pars; Sue D had 6 pars and Hilary had 8 pars and two birdies (5th and 6th holes) - great scoring!

These results meant that Hilary was the worthy winner of the Polglase Trophy this year with a total of 27 points!
Well played Hils!

In equal second place were Lyn and Sue D with 24 points each and in 4th was Fran with 22 points.

Well played everyone!

Last weekend was the Trelawney Fish Open - the winning team had a score of 101 points (a team of four with two scores to count!).

An incredible score that no-one could get close to!

In second were Hilary, Norman, and Paul and Dan F with a score of 85.

In third place were Mark and Dale P, Timmy and Brian P.

Well played all - the only all female team came 7th  with a score of 79 points. Twenty teams entered in total.

There have been very few players on Thursday mornings because several are away and others with Covid so just individual rounds were played.

Charity Open

Charity Open

Thursday 9th June saw our Charity Open raising funds for iSightCornwall.

There was a good turnout of our ladies and some fabulous gifts brought and vouchers given for the raffle table.

Fourteen pairs entered of which four were visitors and we had three other visitors who played alongside our ladies.

Such a lovely touch!

The weather was not the best, it was overcast with a little damp in the air but not too bad for the earlier starters... but by the time they were getting to the 7th hole the damp had solidified a bit and we needed jackets and eventually over-trousers!

It was also very windy!

The later starters of course began in the damp and eventually the mist drew in and we had to call a halt to the round.

Fortunately everyone had played at least 9 holes so a result could be made.

The best score for our visiting ladies was made by Val and Sarah from Truro.

.

There was an awful lot of countback needed (thanks Di) so in third place were Chris D and Anne U with 20 points.

3rd place

In second place, also with 20 points were Jayne and Jill.

2nd Place

And in first place were the winners from last year!

Well played Ros and Fran - also with 20 points!

First Place

We then had a lovely meal.

Huge thanks to Frieda for all her hard work in preparing for today; the course was complimented by our visitors even though the weather was so challenging; and thanks to everyone who donated generous vouchers or other prizes for the raffle - over £180 was raised!

Thanks also to Pam for the beautiful flower arrangements.

Well done everyone!
