Dartmouth Day 1

Dartmouth

Early Sunday morning, as the sun was coming up a host of Cape ladies set out for Dartmouth. The weather was good and the roads were clear so a couple of hours or so  later we were meeting up with old friends in the dining room of Dartmouth.

Dartmouth is in a beautiful setting and we were lucky with the weather.

Hils had already sent us a list of who we were playing with so we were soon getting clubs out and ordering buggies!

First out was our chief of staff Hils with Sue S and Lyn. Many thanks to Hils for arranging everything and thanks to Una who joined Dorothy in a buggy and took the photos on the first afternoon.

Sue D, Fi and Fran followed on behind, the weather was overcast and a bit chilly to start with but it brightened up as the day went on.

Jane, Sarah and myself were the last of the three balls; fourballs and buggies followed on behind.

It was good to see Doris again  and great that Angie's back was strong enough to play.

It was also great to see Val!

The other fourball seem to have stayed well hidden from Una!

The course itself was in fantastic condition. It is a challenging course though... Frieda shared that at one point that she had lost more balls than she had scored points!

After we played we had time to check in to our rooms and sort ourselves out before meeting up for dinner.

As always we had animated discussions over dinner...

It was lots of fun...  during the evening it arose that Lyn had been put off as she was about to putt. The interruption emanated from one of her playing partners...(Sue S!)... as a result of this Hilary introduced a fines system for the next day.

There was to be NO alcohol consumed on the course; NO farts and absolutely NO swearing.

There was a noisy discussion about this, with some ladies expressing themselves forcefully and in no uncertain terms... these ladies were promptly hounded by Lyn who started to collect the fines during the evening!

All in all it was a great day... what will tomorrow bring?
