Anniversary Scramble
Nine teams of four were entered in to this competition. The aim is always to have one lady per team but we could only manage 8 of us this year so one team were all men. Unfortunately Fi's team were a man down which was a real shame.
The weather looked glorious but there was a fierce wind blowing! None of us had seen it forecast so it came as a bit of a shock! Constant strong wind that blew over trolleys and balls off the tee!
However we soldiered on!
Claire and Ryan had arranged for longest drives for the men and ladies on the 14th (with the wind helping) and Nearest the pin on the 16th as we all played off the yellow tees!
Fran won nearest the pin for the ladies and Bob 'Tiger' Joint for the men. The longest drive for the ladies was me...and for the men it was Joe who hit a monster drive - well past the new bunker on the right hand side of the 14th fairway...way beyond that! It was outrageous!!
We all had to get 4 drives in each which was really tricky, especially in those conditions!
The winning team were Lindsay, John Tweedie, Martin Uren and Andy Taylor who were 13 under.
In second on countback were John Fildes, Alan Cragg, Rob Celentano and me who were 11 under.
In third place, also 11 under, were Frieda, Joe McMullen, Felix and Terry Pugh.

Many thanks to Claire and Ryan and for the draw which they had used AI to create for random but balanced teams. The teams had 10, 11 or 12 shots which was excellent.
The course itself is looking in better and better condition thanks as always to the team.
