Polglase 4 Medal

Polglase 4 Medal

Our first competition of the Met Office Summer was a Medal - the final round of the Polglase Trophy Competition.

This is a difficult trophy to win and it requires consistent play over at least three of the four rounds!

The result?

Our worthy winner for 2018 is Hilary!

Well played indeed!

An example of Hilary's standard of golf is that her round today included NINE pars!

The medal itself had 16 entries and although the sun flirted with us there was a southerly breeze and when we started it felt surprisingly chilly!

The Foxglove (GUR) bunker on the 9th!

There was the usual hunting for balls but there were also pars and birdies! Sixteen pars on the front nine and Di had a birdie on the third!

The Back nine threw up 4 birdies (on the 12th) and 22 pars!

In fourth place on Countback, was Di with a Nett 77; also with a Nett 77 was Fran who was in third place.

Enjoying our coffee!
In second was Sue D with a Nett 76 and in first was your ex-capitano with a Nett 71! (You have to blame Chris J and Claire for insisting on a picture... I much prefer to be on the other side of the camera!)

Well done everyone.
It was lovely to see Annie who joined us for coffee; we wish Jean all the best with her op next week and send a multitude of wishes to Val for a speedy recovery.
