Presidents' Cups

Presidents' Cups

There were three Cups to be won today in three competitions - the Women; the Seniors and the Men.

The sky was blue/grey; the sea was the deepest blue...  and the wind whipped in from the East. It was a warmer wind than yesterday but more difficult to play in.

The ladies started on holes 16, 17, 18 and the first... quite a trek involved for some of us! It was a shotgun start at 9am.

Lush rough!
Countback was needed to split second and third places with myself just pipping Sarah to second place with 32 points - (sorry Sarah)!

In first place  and winning the President's Trophy for the ladies was Claire with 33 points.
Well played Claire!

There were three noteworthy birdies... from Bev on the 7th; Di on the 9th and from Claire on the 10th.  Well played !

And there's one more thing... Liz was the only one among us to Par the first hole! That's brilliant!

I don't usually include the Seniors or Men... but in the circumstances I thought I should!
Winning the Seniors Trophy ... was this young fellow...
...well done Kenny!

And winning the Men's Trophy...

...our Head Greenkeeper... who told us there was nothing wrong with the rough!

Many thanks to Lyn and Roy for organising the event and for our refreshments while we played 🍷.

Lyn reminded us that the President's Cups were originally presented after a competition on New Year's Day!    We were glad it's moved!
