Wheeler Bowl

Wheeler Bowl

What a beautiful time of year! The sun was out, the sky blue and sixteen ladies competed in the Wheeler Bowl.

This is a pairs competition; drawn high and low, a stableford with the scores for each pair added together.

It was played off full handicap.

There were some fabulous scores today in the perfect conditions...

...perfect for tadpoles too!

Pond by the 5th tee

There were 7 birdies in total, Sam on the second, me on the 9th, four players (Fi, Ros, Ann and me) on the 12th and Sue S on the 17th!

This latter one needs a special mention!

Sue S teed off on the 17th and had her second shot from about 50 yds out...

...it was a long way to the hole...

...the ball bounced just short of the green on a fabulous line...ran on...and on...and straight into the hole!

A two for 5 points! Well played Sue!

There was a good amount of fun out on the course...this bunch in particular!

Individually there were some great scores - Lindsay had 42 points all on her own, with Chris D with 41 and Ann 40!

These scores more than helped for the final count!

In first were Lindsay and Jayne with 74 points; Claire and Chris D in second with 73 and 'Super-birdie' Sue S and me in third with  72!

Well played all - thanks as always to Di and Lindsay for card-marking and doing the birdies and eclectic and to Mark and his team for the course which is looking great!
