Sue's Charity Evening

Charity Golf Evening 20th April

A cold wet day is perfect for catching up with things... so back to Sue's Charity evening which took place a week ago today.

Friday 20th was sunny and misty during the day... with the mist coming and going...

...the course was looking beautiful...

11th green

Blue skies... but don't be deceived...

... the evening became very chilly with a cutting wind and the players were generally caught unawares and came in feeling cold!

Even the daisies tucked themselves up to stay warm!

and  driving a buggy is extra, extra cold!!

When it's that cold you just have to improvise to stay warm!

How gorgeous does that green look!

Sarah holed the putt!

Sue gave everyone the choice to play the front  or the back... starting sometime after 4pm with a curry available afterwards.

Steve sponsored the prizes! The winner of Back Nine was Chris J  with 15 points beating Ros on countback!

The winner of the Back Nine for the men was Kenny with Robin in second.

The winner of the Front Nine for the ladies was Lindsay with 15 points;

and in second was Liz with 13 points.

For the men, the winner was Denis with 17 points
and in second was Steve B

Well played all!

Sue also auctioned off some things;  Hilary had the winning bid for a round of golf for two on the Nicklaus course; and Robin the box (large!) of aeros!

Sue had also arranged for  Julie Wood to speak about what the Alzheimer's Society offer.
Julie Wood
She gave us a short talk about the role of the Alzheimer's Society and the support that is available for Alzheimer's patients and their families. Julie also spoke from her own experience with her mother.

Some of the available literature.

It was a very successful evening with Sue raising about £300 for her charity!
Well done Sue; thank you Steve for sponsoring the event, and thank you Julie for your talk.
