League v St Enodoc and Thursday Morning

League v St  Enodoc

Thursday saw our Cape team set off at the crack of dawn to travel to Rock to play the first away match of the year.

Conditions were glorious and leaving early meant the traffic was avoided and there was time for coffee (and tea cake for some)!

Nearly all the team were giving shots to their opponents... I think I was the only one to be in the enviable position of receiving shots (though it didn't help!).  Giving shots on an away course is tough!

The team were Claire, Di,  Fi, Hilary, Jane, Sue D and  myself.

18th Green at St Enodoc

The course was in wonderful condition and there were ground-staff working all over the place! Absolutely lovely to see!
The Ladies of St Enodoc were very welcoming and everyone enjoyed their matches.

Putting was difficult, the greens were fast but ran true.

The result was a win to St Enodoc 5.5 to 1.5. Great credit to the three ladies who halved their matches. That's impressive!

Well done all - we look forward to hosting them back at Cape.

Oh... and the changing rooms were other-worldly (even with a drying room!); the pro shop huge and well stocked and the food was excellent!

Thursday Morning 28th March

There was a lovely turnout for our sun-shiny Thursday morning.
What a glorious day!

How cheering it is to see signs of Spring!

Well done to Bronwen for winning the B group!

Congratulations to Frieda for winning the A group with 19 points!
Jenny was second with 16
and Ros was third with 15 points - just pipping Lindsay on countback!

Di had us all in stitches when she told us she had given the men's section a present.
She's attached a pen-on-a-string for them on their notice board so they don't keep nicking ours!  Along with a label explaining!
Well done Di!
