Weather!

Weather!

The 'inclement' weather of the last week put paid to golf for us at Cape. Thursday and Saturday were both non starters - lets just hope that all this means we're due a more settled summer - we can always hope!

There was a lovely turnout for the Trevelyan Trophy Scramble on Sunday - 41 players  of which 12 were ladies.

Many of us had thought we'd have good weather on Sunday... waking to heavy rain and strong winds I for one wondered if I was dreaming?

But no, heavy rain showers and wind were waiting for us... heart sinking we trudged to our starting points in the rain... but thankfully, the showers disappeared and then skirted around us and eventually we had beautiful sunshine!

Play was challenging because of the wind so scoring was not easy. One of the teams was missing a player (who sadly hadn't turned up) which made it difficult for them, but it was great to be out on the course.

The winning team came in with a score of 59.5 which is impressive in that wind!

The Trevelyan Trophy Winners

Well played to Frieda, Andy and Brian!

In second place with 61.7 were Jenny, Norman D and Terry, and in third with 63.5 were Claire, German and Geoff P.
Liz, Steve P and Jeff T were 4th with 63.7

Well done to all who played - it was great to see such a good turnout!

ps Fiona's team won 48 balls... they were the only ones with a two (on the 13th)!!
