Lady Captain's Day

 Lady Captain's Day

The 10th September saw 18 lovely ladies come and play in Frieda's Captain's Day.

After the awful weather recently and the sad news of the death of Queen Elizabeth we were relieved that today we were blessed with a day  of still quiet, weather which reflected well our feelings.

We played a fourball betterball with a straightest and drive (on 10) and nearest the pin in two (on 17).

There were some lovely refreshments too at the 12th hole...

There was some lovely golf played including a handful of birdies and lots of pars and Sue S landing her drive on the bridge of the 14th and out-driving everyone!!

Sarah and Ruth birdied 9; Claire the 10th; Lindsay and Lyn the 12 and  Fran the 14.

After a last minute sourcing of blue rope we had an interesting contest for Nearest the Line! Fran was the early leader with 14'5" from the line...this was almost halved by Sam who was 7'5" from the line but the winner was in the final group...and ended 4'7" from the line...and that was Pam! Well done Pam!

The nearest the pin in two on the 17th was me...just knocking Claire from the winners podium!

It was great to have spotters on the 4th and 12th... thank you John and Norman!

In the competition itself, in third place with 41 points were Lyn and Sue S ...just pipped to second by Sam and me with 42 points!

And our winners, with an awesome 46 points were Sarah and Lindsay! A superb round!

It was lovely to have Judy and Chris L join us after the round then Frieda treated us all to a tasty meal and a lovely gift bag!

Thank you Frieda for an absolutely fabulous day and all your generosity!

And  finally... a picture... thank you John for all your gardening!
