League v Launceston 16th September

 League v Launceston

This was our final match of the season and because of frustrating circumstances (no buggy available for Di) we made a last minute appeal for a seventh player...huge thanks to Ann who stepped in for us.

Our frustration continued when we discovered that they only had 6 players anyway and could have let us know ...they had just hoped a seventh player would turn up!

So one of our players could not play and because of the order on the sheet that became Lindsay!

So frustrating... but at least we had one match already in the bag!

Conditions were excellent... and the course is long... and they put up a fight!

To put this in context, we knew that if we won... we should win the league outright... if we lost we'd be in second... nothing to lose...but a lot to win if we could do it!

We needed four or more matches to win overall!

And we did it!
We won 5 games to 2!!

We are still waiting for the official confirmation but doing all the numbers there should be no doubt that we will top the Division - equal points with Perranporth but more individual matches than them!

We celebrated with some bubbly which Sue treated us to!

Hopefully we'll have official confirmation soon and then we can celebrate properly!

Well played today team - Captain Sue D, Ann, Fi,  Fran,  Jayne, Lindsay and me

but not forgetting Claire, Frieda, Hils, Lyn, Ros and Sam our other team members!!
