Flag 2019

Flag 2019

There were 17 ladies competing in the Flag competition today - the format where we are given 72 shots plus our handicap and we see how far we get!
The first ones out carry the flag and plant it at the furthest point they reach, then any following player who has still got shots left carries the flag further on till they have used all theirs etc etc

The weather was ... interesting!
It was chilly with some heavy showers, but these conditions give us glorious skies.

And also several lovely rainbows...

It was lovely that Fran managed to play again today despite being considerably hampered with her shoulder.
Hilary and Judy on 12
Players on the 12th green calling the ready players behind them to tee off seemed to work well today.

     As in previous years there were concentrations of flags on the board at the end.

 Seven ladies reached the 16th with 5 clustered on the green with Jane and Claire in the                  hole!

 On the 17th Fairway was Marion who was in 5th place.

In front of Marion in fourth place was Sue D who was 9 yards short of the green;

Sue S and Lyn were equal second in the hole on 17...

             and I had two shots left which took me down towards the first wall on the 18th!
Looking back towards the 18th tee - the "Flag" just visible.

Di reminded us about the 100 Club; the upcoming Stableford next Saturday and New Captain's Trophy Mixed Scramble on Sunday.

Also, Sue D will be presenting her cheque to the lady from the Alzheimer's Society after golf on Thursday morning.
